The Marine Turtle Specialist Group is a volunteer network of more than 300 expert members in more than 95 countries and territories. These volunteer members contribute a wide range of geographic and thematic expertise to the group, making the MTSG the global authority on marine turtle research and conservation.
MTSG members are appointed to the group after being nominated, invited and agreeing to join. Every four years, in coincidence with IUCN’s quadrennial cycle, the entire MTSG membership is dissolved and then re-established.
